Elliott Advocacy, a consumer advocacy organization that empowers consumers to solve their problems and helps those who can’t, has been granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
“Becoming a 501(c)(3) is an important and necessary step in turning Elliott Advocacy into a sustainable organization that helps consumers,” says founder Christopher Elliott.
Elliott Advocacy started in 1994 as a blog. It published consumer articles and advocated for readers for the next 23 years.
“A decade ago, I began to work with a group of dedicated volunteers who could see the potential of a consumer organization,” says Elliott. “It all led up to our incorporation as a Delaware nonprofit earlier this year and the granting of tax-exempt status by the IRS today.”
Elliott Advocacy helps consumers through direct consumer advocacy, journalism, and by maintaining the largest database of executive contact information on the Internet for consumers.
